Before applying for a Mandarin course, please carefully review the application procedures, course information, refund policy, and visa requirements on this page, and complete all required procedures in accordance with the Center's email notifications.

※ Applicants who require a Visitor Visa for Studying Chinese (FR visa) or who are applying for the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) should pay particular attention to the visa and course eligibility information on this page.

• Based on different learning formats and needs, the Center's Mandarin courses are primarily offered as Regular Seasonal Classes, In-person Group Classes, Online Group Classes, and Customized Private Classes. Courses are scheduled throughout the year in spring, summer, autumn, and winter, providing flexible and diverse learning options.
• For detailed course content, instructional hours, and fees, please refer to the Center's “Overview of Mandarin Courses” page.
• Applicants who require an FR visa or are applying for the HES scholarship must select the Regular Seasonal Class.

• Tuition does not include the cost of textbooks or other course materials.
• If enrollment does not reach the minimum number required to open a class, the Center may extend the enrollment period or cancel the class. If a class is not offered, students who have already paid may apply for a full refund.
• After completing registration and payment, students who are unable to attend due to exceptional circumstances, such as a serious illness supported by documentation from a public hospital or a military service call-up, may apply for a course deferral or refund in accordance with the applicable regulations.
• Refunds shall be processed in accordance with the National University of Kaohsiung regulations governing continuing education programs. Students who apply for a refund after the course has begun but before one-third of the course has been completed may receive a refund of one-half of the fees paid. No refund applications will be accepted after one-third of the course has been completed.
• No refund may be requested after a course has been deferred or the student has transferred to another class.
• Any matters not specified herein shall be handled in accordance with the “National University of Kaohsiung Regulations Governing Continuing Education.”

• In the event of force majeure, such as a natural disaster, the Center may adjust, postpone, or cancel courses as circumstances require. Any changes will be announced separately or communicated by email.
• The application form will close early when enrollment reaches capacity. Applicants wishing to join the waiting list should contact the Center by email.
• Auditing courses is generally not permitted.
• The Center reserves the right to adjust course times, locations, and instructors. Students will be notified separately of any changes.
• All textbooks and instructional materials provided by the Center are protected by intellectual property laws and may not be reproduced or distributed unlawfully.
• Smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, and chewing betel nuts are strictly prohibited throughout the University campus. All students are required to comply with the relevant regulations.
• If a student engages in inappropriate conduct that disrupts or adversely affects others, the Center may terminate the student's eligibility to attend classes without refunding any fees paid.

• Visa categories, application requirements, and review standards for applicants of different nationalities are subject to the regulations of the relevant overseas mission of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
• Before applying for admission, applicants should confirm the visa regulations applicable to their nationality and prepare the required documents to ensure that their entry into Taiwan and stay during the study period are lawful.
• For applicants of certain nationalities or with particular statuses, an overseas mission may decline to accept visa applications for the purpose of studying Mandarin or may require additional documents. Actual review decisions are subject to the announcements and requirements of the relevant overseas mission.

• Important information for Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) applicants: Starting from June 2026, scholarship recipients may not enter Taiwan under visa-exempt entry, with an e-visa, or with a visa on arrival. They must obtain an FR visa in accordance with the applicable requirements. Scholarship recipients who fail to comply will be ineligible to receive the scholarship.
• The method of entry and immigration status will affect the period of lawful stay and related rights during the applicant's studies in Taiwan. Applicants are advised to select and arrange the appropriate visa category based on their individual study plans.
• To ensure that the course proceeds smoothly, applicants must complete all application, payment, and check-in procedures within the deadlines specified by the Center. Applicants who fail to complete the required procedures by the applicable deadlines will be deemed to have forfeited their admission.
