In general, applicants must prepare the official Letter of Admission issued by this Language Center (original and photocopy), a completed and printed visa application form, and proof of financial support, such as a bank statement or remittance certificate. Applicants are advised to confirm the validity period, number of copies, and whether translation or notarization is required before submission.
Courses are conducted in small groups, with a minimum of 5 students required to open a class. If enrollment is insufficient, the Center may extend the registration period or cancel the course. Courses are generally conducted in person.
Tuition fees do not include textbooks. Textbooks and teaching materials prepared by the Center are protected by intellectual property laws. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution is prohibited.
In case of force majeure, such as natural disasters, the Center may adjust, postpone, or cancel courses as necessary. Related information will be announced on the Center website or sent to students by email.

The following visa information is for reference only. Please consult the nearest ROC embassy or representative office, which can be found through the ROC overseas missions website, or refer to information provided by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please make sure you understand the relevant visa regulations before departure. You may also call the toll-free service hotline for foreigners at 0800-024-111.
Visa applicants should first complete the online visa application form. Students who study Mandarin at the Language Center should apply for a Visitor Visa for the purpose of Mandarin study. The visa code for Mandarin study is FR. After submitting the form, please print it and submit the Letter of Admission issued by the Language Center and other required documents to the ROC overseas mission selected by the applicant.
When issuing a visa for Mandarin study, overseas missions usually grant an extendable visa valid for 60 or 90 days. An extendable visa may be extended twice, allowing a maximum stay of 180 days. If the visa issued is non-extendable, or if an extension application is denied, the visa holder must leave Taiwan before the permitted stay expires and apply for a new visa.
Since 30-day visa-free entry cannot be extended, students must leave Taiwan when the 30-day period expires before applying for a new visa. Therefore, students applying for regular-term courses of 3 months or 2 months are advised not to enter Taiwan under 30-day visa-free entry, in order to avoid the inconvenience of frequent exits.
Yes. A 90-day visa-free stay is usually sufficient to complete one term at the Language Center. However, the date of entry may affect the number of class days you can attend, and entering too early may prevent you from completing the final days of the course. Please refer to the Center’s course calendar and plan your arrival date before deciding whether to apply for a visa. If you plan to study in Taiwan for two or more terms and do not wish to leave Taiwan every 90 days, you may apply in advance for a Visitor Visa for Mandarin study.
If the visa expiration date is close to the final day of the course, students may apply to the National Immigration Agency for a grace period, usually not exceeding 10 days, to complete the course. Please note that visa extension approval remains subject to the discretion of immigration officers.
Students who have continuously stayed in Taiwan for 120 days without leaving the country, maintained good academic performance and attendance, and plan to study at the Language Center for three or more terms may apply for a Resident Visa. Please refer to Q7 for the application process. After obtaining a Resident Visa, students may apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC). Please note that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may require a guarantor for Resident Visa applications, and the Language Center cannot serve as a guarantor.

Students who have studied Mandarin in Taiwan for at least one year and hold an ARC may apply for a part-time work permit. Working without a valid work permit is prohibited. Students who wish to apply must first obtain approval from the Language Center before applying to the Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor for a part-time work permit. Please contact the Center for details.
No. Applications at this Center are processed by term. A regular term is generally 3 months, while the July-August summer term is 2 months. Applicants may apply to an overseas mission for a 60- to 90-day Visitor Visa for Mandarin study. Students who wish to continue for additional terms should pay the tuition for the next term during the returning student registration period and apply for a visa extension with an enrollment certificate and academic record at least 2 weeks before the visa expires.
An ARC for Mandarin study may only be extended for a maximum of 2 years. Students who have reached the 2-year limit must leave Taiwan. If they wish to continue studying Mandarin, they may reapply for a Visitor Visa for Mandarin study with school documents, but approval is subject to the decision of the ROC overseas mission.
