Simple, Secure, Bright, and Well-Ventilated Student Housing
Available Exclusively to Students
Priority is given to students whose permanent residences are outside Kaohsiung.
Shu Xiang Yuan Student Suites is a privately owned student residence located next to the National University of Kaohsiung.
The residence is not owned, operated, or managed by the National University of Kaohsiung. Rental arrangements, payments, accommodation rules, and related matters are handled directly by the property owner.
Eligibility and Accommodation Rules
Student-only Accommodation
Only students are eligible to stay at the residence. Priority is given to students from outside Kaohsiung.
No Cooking and No Smoking
Cooking with an open flame and smoking are strictly prohibited throughout the residence.
Respectful Living Environment
Residents must work together to maintain a comfortable living environment. Excessive noise and behavior that may disturb other residents’ daily routines are not permitted.
Location
The residence is located immediately next to the National University of Kaohsiung, beside the College of Law and the College of Management and near the College of Science.
Reservation and Contract Procedures
No On-site Room Viewings
The residence normally remains fully occupied. To protect residents’ privacy and maintain accommodation quality, on-site room viewings are not available.
Reservations Begin After Lunar New Year
Reservations based on room photographs begin after Lunar New Year. A deposit of NT$6,000 must be transferred to secure a room. The deposit will become the security deposit when the accommodation agreement is signed.
Public-area Viewing and Contract Signing
A designated date will be arranged in mid-March for prospective residents to view the common areas and sign their accommodation agreements. Applicants should attend at the time specified in the notification.
Safety and Access Control
Security Cameras
The building is equipped with 10 security cameras, including four cameras covering the covered entrance area and motorcycle parking area.
Outdoor Lighting
Three streetlights are installed around the residence to provide bright lighting at night.
Secure Entrance
The main entrance uses coded access cards that cannot be privately duplicated. An intercom is also installed at the entrance.
Fire Safety Equipment
Each floor is equipped with fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and security cameras.
Safety Assessment
The residence has undergone a safety assessment visit conducted by military instructors from the National University of Kaohsiung.
Public Liability Insurance
Public liability insurance has been obtained to provide residents with additional protection.
Living Facilities
Transportation and Waste Collection
A bus stop is located directly outside the residence. A garbage truck stops nearby every evening at approximately 9:00 p.m.
First-floor Facilities
The first floor provides a bulletin board, helmet racks, raincoat racks, and a drinking-water dispenser. The water filter is replaced every two months.
Internet Service
Free 1 Gbps internet service is provided.
Shared Supplies
The second-floor office provides sewing supplies, stationery, a toolbox, and other items that residents may borrow free of charge.
Bright and Ventilated Common Areas
Every floor has corridor windows, providing natural light and good ventilation.
Private Rooms
Rooms have solid concrete partition walls, are approximately 16.5 square meters in size, and include a private bathroom.
Building and Laundry Facilities
The building has six floors and does not have an elevator. Residents are not charged for electricity used in the common areas.
The rooftop provides two free automatic washing machines and both indoor and outdoor clothes-drying areas.
Brooms, mops, cleaning cloths, and other cleaning supplies are also available on the rooftop for residents to use free of charge.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Weekly Common-area Cleaning
Professional cleaning personnel clean the common areas every week.
Washing-machine Cleaning
The inner drums of the washing machines are cleaned regularly.
Water-tank Maintenance
Professional contractors clean and maintain the water tanks during the winter and summer vacations.
Equipment Maintenance
Security cameras, internet equipment, air conditioners, curtains, and other facilities receive regular inspection, cleaning, and maintenance.
Nearby Amenities
The surrounding area offers convenient access to convenience stores, local restaurants, Carrefour, PX Mart, Tsann Kuen, food courts, Starbucks, Showba Department Store, 8th Street Lifestyle Store, and other shops and services.
Rent and Fees

| Utility Prepayment | NT$6,000 is collected in advance every six months. Monthly charges are deducted and posted in the LINE group for residents to review. |
Move-out Cleaning Requirements
Before moving out, residents must thoroughly clean the room according to the condition shown in the move-in photographs.
A professional cleaning fee of NT$1,000 is payable when the resident has completed the required cleaning.
When a room is returned without being cleaned, a professional cleaning fee of NT$2,000 will be charged.
Move-in Arrangements
The official move-in date is July 1.
New residents who must move out of their university dormitories before the end of June may pack their belongings in boxes, clearly label each box with their name, and temporarily store the boxes in the second-floor office. They may move the items into their rooms when they return to campus during the summer vacation.

Room Types and Furnishings
Available room layouts include Room Types 01, 02, 03, 05, and 06. Room layouts, window locations, entrances, and bathroom configurations may vary.
All furniture may be moved and rearranged according to the resident’s needs.
Each room includes a shoe rack, desk, refrigerator, wardrobe, and private bathroom. Some rooms have two windows.
Fire Extinguisher Inspection
Photographs of fire extinguisher inspection labels are provided as examples. When the fire extinguisher service date is reached, the contracted service provider will replace the extinguishing agent.
