CU-TFL
In response to the New Southbound Policy, since 2016, the National University of Kaohsiung(NUK) has started to co-organize the Chulalongkorn University Proficiency Test of Thai as a Foreign Language (CU-TFL). CU-TFL is the only official Thai Language test that is authorized by The Sirindhorn Thaianguage Institute, Chulalongkorn University, and held by the Language Center of NUK. The testing skills include listening, reading, writing, and speaking; The test results are separated into 5 levels:
The “listening and reading Test” is a 120-minute paper-and-pencil test; the “writing test” is a 60-minute paper-and-pencil test; the “speaking test” is conducted by a Thai examiner in person with a 45-minute face-to-face conversation.
CU-TFL is designed for non-native Thai speakers, and the test results of CU-TFL are highly recognized by educational institutes and enterprises in Thailand. Besides, to maintain the high quality and credibility of the tests, examiners of each test are assigned by the Sirindhorn Thaianguage Institute.
